About CAMT
Our Mission
The Colorado Association for Music Therapy (CAMT) was founded in 1984. CAMT strives to educate community members and fellow healthcare professionals about the benefits of music therapy and the importance of implementing quality music therapy programs to serve a wide range of client populations. We are also committed to supporting our members by offering continuing education, employment networking and peer support.
Currently, CAMT has 30 members which include professionals, students and honorary members.

Blythe LaGasse, PhD, MT-BC, NMT

Blythe is the Assistant Professor of Music Therapy at CSU. She owns a music therapy private practice where she primarily works with children with speech disorders and autism. She is happy to be back in Colorado where the opportunities for hiking and biking with beautiful scenery are endless.

Audrey Lyons, MM, MT-BC, NMT

Audrey is a full-time music therapist at Julia Temple Healthcare Center and Chateau des Mons in Englewood, CO. She works with Assisted Living, Skilled and Long Term Care Elders diagnosed with dementia. She lives in Lakewood with her husband, daughter and golden retriever, Tobi. Audrey just started singing with the Littleton Chorale weekly.

Beth graduated from CSU in 2022 and is practicing as an MT-BC and NMT. Beth specializes in autism and hospice care and she recently completed her graduate degree at CSU. Beth is looking forward to serving as your membership chair this year!

Valerie Kocel, MT-BC NICU MT

Valerie has been practicing music therapy since 2002 and owns a private practice called Music Therapy Rocks. She provides music therapy for children with medical & special needs and is contracting with Denver Health Medical Center in the pediatric department. Valerie has specialized training in NICU music therapy through Florida State University. She lives in Denver with her husband, 2 dogs and a baby who is on the way.

Deborah Palmer, MM, MT-BC, NMT

Deborah completed her master’s degree at CSU in 2007 ad then completed her internship at Hospice of Larimer County (Pathways Hospice). She worked in a skilled nursing facility from 2007-2008 and in December 2008, started a private practice called Peak View Music Therapy. She works with a variety of populations which include older adults, dementia, hospice, persons with special needs and autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

Aileen Ravalo-Voyles, MT-BC, NMT

Aileen is a former CSU student. She is a board certified music therapist and currently works with Neurosong Music Therapy Services, Inc. She has dreamed of becoming a music therapist since she was 13, desiring to bring her love for psychology, music and people together. She is now “living the dream”. Aileen and her husband live in Fort Collins and together they enjoy cooking, traveling and enjoy the outdoors of Colorado.

Lauren is recently graduated from CSU with her Master’s degree. She has a true passion for music therapy and loves going to work each and every day. Lauren is currently working for Metro Music Therapy, Inc as well as working with Larimer Center for Mental Health in Fort Collins. She loves working with children with disabilities and psychopathology. Lauren chose to become an MT because she finally found a way to use her love of music to help children.

Julia is a sophomore at CSU pursuing her bachelor’s in music therapy. She hopes to work with children in the hospital. She also loves playing her bassoon, singing, playing piano and guitar. She was born and raised in Colorado and she and her new kitten can’t imagine living anywhere else!
